ENT-voice disorders-02
The "Fibrolaryngoscopy" is a quick and painless instrumental method that allows
the direct and detailed view of the organs of ENT competence, i.e. the larynx and vocal cords, as well as the hypopharynx, the base of the tongue, the epiglottis and the false cords, all structures located below the pharynx and therefore not visible to simple inspection with the tongue depressor. Fibrolaryngoscopy is a necessary diagnostic test for all those patients who complain of disorders of the upper respiratory tract, such as voice changes, bleeding from the mouth, difficulty in swallowing, coughing cough, feeling of closed throat and / or suffocation, pain in the neck, gastroesophageal reflux, enlarged lymph nodes, ingestion of foreign bodies etc ...
The exam is fast, easy to perform, can be performed on an outpatient basis, it only requires
a minimum of collaboration and is also available in pediatric age.
The method uses thin and minimally invasive optical fiber endoscopes connected to
a camera and a monitor that allows the recording of images. (photo)
